Maryland Man Accused Of Groping, Sexually Abusing Clients At DC Clinic

A Maryland man who worked at a Washington, DC clinic is facing charges for allegedly groping and inappropriately touching clients on at least two occasions years apart.

Haileleoul Erbello, 47, of Laurel, has been charged with six counts of second-degree sexual abuse or a patient or client for a pair of incidents that were reported in August 2019 and April 2021, according to federal officials.

According to an indictment, Erbello worked at the Metro Lab clinic in DC, and on Aug. 20, 2019, he was performing a physical exam on a patient when he allegedly groped her breasts, pressed himself against her, and rubbed his genitals against her arm.

A second patient was allegedly abused on April 10, 2021, when he pressed himself against her backside, groped her, and touched her inappropriately.

In both instances, the women were being examined to certify themselves for jobs.

If convicted, Erbello faces up to five years in prison on each count of sexual abuse. No information about his next court date has been released.
